Buying your ticket with the free Gozo Fast Ferry App
Download our free Gozo Fast Ferry smartphone app which is available on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
With the Gozo Fast Ferry app you can:
- Buy tickets for the next ferry trip
- Book your trip by selecting the outward trip date and time
When you book your ticket from the Gozo Fast Ferry app and you choose a specific date and time for your trips, your seat on the ferry will be reserved. This will give you added peace of mind knowing that you will get on the ferry which will be leaving at your preferred time.
Before buying your first ticket with Gozo Fast Ferry app or through the website, you need to register so that you can save your bookings and retrieve them when you need to.

When booking online you pay for your tickets with with your bank card. Your ticket will be displayed on your smartphone. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal, you can scan your smartphone on the ticket reader, and board the ferry. It’s that easy!
The Gozo Fast Ferry App also allows you to modify bookings, however charges may apply.

You can then either print our your ticket and present it to our Customer Agents before boarding or you can save the ticket to your smartphone and scan your smartphone on the ticket reader before boarding.

TALLINJA CARD
Pay with your Tallinja Card
Malta Public Transport is collaborating with Gozo Fast Ferry to offer discounted fares and a Tap-and-Board facility which allows holders of a personalised Tallinja Card to benefit from discounted fares to pay with their Tallinja Card instead of in cash. Customers will just need to tap their Tallinja Card when boarding the ferry and the system will automatically charge the discounted fare to their Tallinja account.
You can also pay with your Tallinja Card when buying a ticket from the Gozo Fast Ferry app or from this website.
When buying your ticket with the app or through the website and paying with a Tallinja Card, please remember to present your Tallinja Card at the ferry for validation. The fare will be deducted from your Tallinja Card when this is scanned at the ferry. You must therefore ensure that you have sufficient credit in your Tallinja Card for the full fare otherwise you will be refused boarding.

TICKET SELLERS AT THE TERMINALS
Buying Ferry Tickets from Ticket Sellers
A number of Ticket Sellers will be located in both landing places in Mgarr, Gozo and Valletta, Malta for most of the day. You can purchase tickets for immediate travel. Payment can be made by cash and bank cards and tickets will be printed for presentation when boarding.
With effect from 1st March 2022, it will not be possible to pay for the Gozo Fast Ferry with a Tallinja Card
Buy a Ticket with a Connection
Valletta Barrakka Lift
Gozo Fast Ferry passengers who buy their ticket from Gozo are given a free ticket to go up the Valletta Barrakka Lift, as long as this is done within the same day as the ticket bought. The trip down the Valletta Barrakka Lift is always at a fee.
Bus Connections
A bus service operated by Malta Public Transport will be available from Lascaris Wharf Terminal as follows:
– Junior College in Msida, the University of Malta in Tal-Qroqq and Mater Dei Hospital starting 1 June 2021
– Malta College for Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) in Paola starting 1 September 2021
A bus service will also be available from Mgarr Harbour in Gozo. Route 301 operates several trips every hour to the capital – Victoria.
Holders of a personalised Tallinja Card can simply tap and board the bus. You may also pay for your bus trip with a contactless bank card. Standard bus fares and terms and conditions apply depending on the different types of Tallinja Card (including Child, Student, Adult, Concession and Gozo).
Ferry to Sliema and the Three Cities
You can travel on one of the ferries operated by Valletta Ferry Services to get to the Three Cities or to Sliema. A shuttle bus connects Lascaris Wharf Terminal to the landing point of the ferry to Sliema in Marsamxett Harbour.
Holders of a personalised Tallinja Card can simply tap and board the Valletta ferry either to Sliema or to the Three Cities and there is no need to pre-book. Standard fares and terms and conditions will apply to the respective Tallinja Card types.
Third Party and Corporate Sales
Third Party Web Sales Platform
Third parties (such as hotels, tour operators and retail outlets) may apply to obtain access to the Gozo Fast Ferry Web Sales Platform. This will allow them to sell tickets to customers in the same way as the website booking system. Payments will be collected by the third parties and then Gozo Fast Ferry will charge the respective fare to the third party in accordance with pre-established agreements. Corporate Sales
Companies or organisations whose employees or members travel to Gozo on business matters and who wish to offer them special company benefits for such travel, can also benefit from the Web Sales Platform to sell tickets to their employees or members.
